Geagea requests “practical translation” of Lebanese-Syrian decisions
Head of the Lebanese Forces Executive Council Samir Geagea expressed his hope that establishing embassies would be a “practical translation” of the decision to develop diplomatic relations between Lebanon and Syria.
After a meeting with Prime Minister Fouad Siniora at the Grand Serail on Friday, Geagea questioned the desire of some parties to maintain the Syrian-Lebanese Higher Council.
“We achieved nothing in the issue of the delineation of borders,” he continued. Geagea refuted the theory of delineation only after the Shebaa Farms area was liberated as “liberation is originally linked to delineation.”
The Lebanese Forces leader said it was unacceptable that the life of the Lebanese remain at stake after the political compromise reached recently.
“The security condition is a technical issue, especially after what happened in Tripoli,” he added.
