Jordanian FM: There Should be Arab Backing to National Dialogue
Jordanian Foreign Minister Salahuddin Bashir said there should be Arab support for the national dialogue that will be sponsored by President Michel Suleiman at Baabda Palace.
There should be Arab "backing to the Lebanese dialogue under the sponsorship of President Suleiman," Bashir told An Nahar daily in remarks published Tuesday.
Bashir met with Suleiman, Speaker Nabih Berri, Premier Fouad Saniora and Foreign Minister Fawzi Salloukh on Monday.
He also told An Nahar that his visit to Beirut was aimed at "intensifying political consultations between the two countries over bilateral and regional issues."
He said his country was keen on seeing a stable Lebanon.
Bashir also delivered an invitation from Jordan”s King Abdullah to Suleiman to visit Amman.
