Fatfat calls on armed forces to show firmness in Tripoli
Future Movement MP Ahmed Fatfat told the Voice of Lebanon radio station on Tuesday that the situation was still un-stable in the North and Tripoli in particular, because residents of the Jabal Mohsen and Bab al-Tabbaneh neighborhoods were still throwing bombs and firing at each other.
He added that the army and the ISF have a presence in the area, but they have not imposed stability.
He said that a large number of Tripoli citizens called on the army to be more firm in reacting to the violence.
Fatfat also told the radio station that he was optomistic that security appointments will be made during the Council of Ministers’ meeting on Thursday, including naming the next army commander.
