UNIFIL: Israel did not enter Meis al-Jabal
UNIFIL deputy spokesperson Andrea Tenenti said that UNIFIL did not register any Israeli violation of the Blue Line (the border demarcation between Lebanon and Israel published on June, 7 2000) in Meis al-Jabal Southern village.
In reference to what had been said earlier that Israeli officers refused to meet Commander of UNIFIL General Claudio Graziano, Tenenti said, “The nature and level of communication with Israel is defined by the United Nations Security council Resolution 1701.”
“UNIFIL is in continuous periodic communication with Israeli army officers,” Tenenti added.
Concerning a meeting between General Graziano and Israeli Defense Minister, Tenenti said, “This is something to be agreed upon by the two sides, within the framework of UNSCR 1701, whenever necessary.”
