Hariri Reiterates Mustaqbal has One Strategy for Lebanon
MP Saad Hariri has reiterated that Mustaqbal Movement has one strategy for Lebanon – strengthening the state.
"We will not allow anyone — be it from within the Mustaqbal movement or outside — to force us (to adopt) any other strategy than the one" to bolster the state, Hariri told supporters at an Iftar banquet at his mansion in Qoreitem on Tuesday.
While terming "unforgettable and unforgivable" Hizbullah”s takeover of Beirut in May, Hariri stressed the need to "carry on with the march and the project of Rafik Hariri for which he died."
"We want to live in this country – together Muslims and Christians — with dignity and with each side respecting the other and accepting the other," Hariri added.
"We should not live in isolation from each other," he said.
"Confining oneself to one sect leads to Lebanon”s destruction," he stressed. "And this is what they want!"
Hariri rejected attempts to "corner" him into becoming a Sunni chief, pledging to remain a leader for "the entire Lebanese."
