The Aridi Crime Targets the Proposed Dialogue
March 14 coordinator Faris Souaid on Thursday said the assassination of Lebanese Democratic Party official Saleh al-Aridi targets reconciliation efforts by Progressive Socialist Party leader Walid Jumblat.
The crime, that came one day after President Michel Suleiman declared the schedule for resuming national dialogue at the Baabda Palace, also "targets the president”s efforts aimed at stabilizing the situation," Souaid said.
The forthcoming dialogue is "now targeted by assassinations," he concluded.
