Political differences are legitimate
Deputy Head of the Lebanese Forces Executive Council MP George Adwan said on Friday that the people of Lebanon are determined to reach reconciliation and support the initiatives of President Michel Sleiman.
During a meeting with Maronite Patriarch Nasrallah Boutros Sfeir in Bkirki, Adwan said that he was relieved by recent military appointments, and considered them a step toward rebuilding government institutions.
Adwan denied rumors that LF leader Samir Geagea did not support the appointment of new Army Commander Jean Kahwaji. Adwan said that political differences were legitimate, but that they should not lead to tension.
He also confirmed that he would run in the coming parliamentary elections as an ally of the Democratic Gathering bloc, because both parties were part of the March 14 alliance.
