National dialogue complements state institutions
Minister of State Youssef Taqla told the Voice of Lebanon radio station on Saturday that the national dialogue, which will commence on September 16, will involve in depth discussions and will solve problems radically.
“I consider that the Taif Agreement is the constitution of Lebanon, but that the Doha Agreement is not as important because it only aimed to solve specific difficulties,” said Taqla.
He added that the Doha Agreement paved the way for national dialogue, and he stated that the Arab League should participate in the sessions.
Taqla said that the dialogue complemented, but could not replace, the role of state institutions.
Taqla added that no one could disrupt the tribunal into the assassination of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri, which would proceed until the truth is revealed.
