Damascus Declaration: Syrian regime must not granted an opportunity
The Beirut Secretary for the Damascus Declaration warned Syrian parties in Lebanon that any appearance of suspicious activity could give the Syrian regime a pretext to intervene in Lebanese affairs.
The group called on the Syrian opposition in Lebanon to avoid conflicts with armed groups, because the Syrian Regime might use such an incident to exact revenge on opposition members still in Syria.
The secretary said that the Syrian Regime wanted to control Lebanon, and deny the country independence and sovereignty.
The secretary also said that the opposition had always supported the rights of both Lebanon and Syria, and believed in mutual respect.
