National Bloc: Nasrallah is assuming presidents duties
The National Bloc said that Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah seemed, in his most recent speech on Tuesday, like he was assuming the duties of President Michel Sleiman and trying to impose his own agenda on the national dialogue.
In a statement released on Thursday, the party said that some parties were using threats and violence to frighten the people of Lebanon, adding that “those parties are now focusing on the free press, such as L’Orient Le Jour and Al-Mustaqbal newspapers.”
The National Bloc also asked, “Why did Hezbollah intervene, and give the keys of the old church in Lassa to Michel Aoun?”
The party called on security and judicial authorities to carry out their duties and strengthen the rule of law, and said that despite all the recent reconciliation efforts in Lebanon, the country still faced many security challenges.
