Aoun must realize that political disputes are legitimate
Minister of State Wael Abu Faour said that there was a new plot underway to undermine independent forces and drive the nation into conflict. Abu Faour said that PSP Leader MP Walid Jumblatt wanted the Monday meeting with Hezbollah in Khaldeh to build on Future Movement leader MP Saad Hariri’s reconciliation efforts in northern Lebanon. However, Abu Faour said that the meeting did not discuss any possible meeting between Jumblatt and Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah.
In an interview with Al-Ousbou al-Arabi magazine on Tuesday, Abu Faour said that the relationship between the PSP and the Lebanese Forces was “firm and good,” and would not be altered.
“The issue of displaced people has never been discussed with the Free Patriotic Movement,” Abu Faour said, before urging Free Patriotic Movement leader MP Michel Aoun, as well as his ministers and MPs to realize that “political disputes are legitimate; however it is in no one’s interest to hinder the reconciliation in Mount Lebanon, and the positive atmosphere surrounding it.”
