All parties seek settlements to reduce violence
Prime Minister Fouad Siniora said on Friday that Electricite Du Liban had rescinded the decision to increase energy rationing in Beirut.
After Friday Prayers at the Grand Serail, Siniora told the reporters that all parties in Lebanon wanted to reach settlements that would reduce violence.
Lebanon is a democratic country that respects differences and diversity, Siniora said before calling on security forces, politicians and the media to help foster reconciliation.
Siniora said that the minimum wage increase was now in the hands of the State Consultative Council, and that once everything was finalized the law would be published in the Official Gazette.
“We should consider the financial situation and the economic crisis before making any decision,” he said.
