March 14 Endorses Reconciliations, Refuses Bargaining Over Alliances
March 14 coalition leaders met on Tuesday night in Qoreitem to discuss the potential meeting between Future Movement leader MP Saad Hariri and Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah.
March 14 issued a statement following the meeting that emphasized the necessity of preserving peace and facilitating the reconciliations between feuding sides in Tripoli and Mount Lebanon, despite the political differences.
The statement read that the coalition was committed to national constants, that it would not bargain over its political and electoral alliances, and that it would face violence and security threats and implement all the clauses of the Doha Agreement.
The statement added that supporting the state was the only means to save Lebanon.
The alliance called on legitimate military and security forces to carry out their duties to protect the country’s citizens and stop any attacks against their dignity, freedom and property in Beirut and other areas.
