Removing Posters and Banners from Beirut in Three Days
Mustaqbal Movement leader Saad Hariri announced Thursday that agreement has been reached on removing posters and banners from Beirut in three days "to start with."
Hariri said he also discussed with Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri implementing the security chapter of the Doha Accord.
Hariri, talking to reporters at Berri”s residence, said the agreement on removing posters and banners from Beirut is a first step and would expand to "cover the whole of Lebanon."
He said agreement also has been reached on activating meetings between representatives of neighborhoods and families "effective immediately" with the aim of "cooperating, particularly in Beirut, and the whole of Lebanon."
Hariri said the meeting with Berri was "cordial" and praised the speaker for being a supporter of civil peace.
In answering a question about a threat by Free Patriotic Movement leader Michel Aoun to boycott the Conference on National Dialogue, Hariri said: "If Aoun wants to abandon dialogue let him face the repercussions."
He said a proposed meeting with Hizbullah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah awaits security arrangements.
