Hezbollah Meeting Does Not Mean Future Movement Submitted to “Hezbollah’s project”

Future MP Mustafa Allouch said that the Wednesday meeting between a Hezbollah delegation and Future Movement leader MP Saad Hariri at Qoreitem was intended to increase stability, but did not mean that “we submitted to Hezbollah’s project for this country.”

During a Suhour organized by the Future Movement on Friday in Tripoli, Allouch said that the meeting was a way to introduce the idea that while Future disagreed with March 8 and the party of “Wilayat al-Faqih,” the differences should not descend into open combat.

“As for the assumption that this meeting resolved all problems,” Allouch said, “I assure you that resolving all problems cannot be achieved except through putting all armed forces under command of the army.”

Allouch said that nobody was satisfied with militia weapons “whether they are called resistance or not.”

Allouch said it was imperative that all participants enter the national dialogue with open hearts and the goal of putting every weapon under the control of the state. Allouch further said that the dialogue must produce a clear result: “one state, instead of states within the state, like that of the party of Wilayat al-Faqih.”
