Lebanese Forces MP”s Discuss Reconciliation and Terrorism with MP Murr
Lebanese Forces MP”s Strida Geagea and Elie Keyrouz, and Lebanese Forces council member Eddy Abillama visited MP Michel al-Murr at his office in Amaret Chalhoub on Wednesday. Geagea told journalists that the meeting discussed the role of the president, the vision of the state, the Lebanese army and the importance of army deployment across Lebanon.
Geagea said they did not discuss the 2009 parliamentary elections, except to agree on their postponement to February.
Murr said that they discussed Monday’s terrorist attack in Tripoli, as well as the recently mooted reconciliations within the Christian community. He said that previous dispute with the Lebanese Forces had been resolved after Geagea’s public apology for all civil war wounds.
Concerning other reconciliations, Murr said that this is a Bkirki affair, because Bkirki concerns itself with reconciliation. When asked whether his relationship with the Lebanese Forces would increase the distance between him and MP Michel Aoun, Murr said that there is no distance with Aoun and denied that his Lebanese Forces connections could have any bearing on the situation.
