No One Will Impose Conditions on Reconciliation If Intentions Are Good
Lebanese Forces MP Antoine Zahra said that the Bsarma incident, and the subsequent heightened tension between the Lebanese Forces and Marada Movement, had paved the way for a Christian reconciliation.
In an interview with the Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Rai, Zahra said that all parties should affirm the democratic right to hold differing opinions and prevent violent actions from occurring.
Zahra said that the reconciliation between the Lebanese Forces and Marada Movement would take place in Baabda under the auspices of President Michel Sleiman and would be blessed by Maronite Patriarch Nasrallah Boutros Sfeir.
“If the intentions towards reconciliation are good, no one can impose conditions,” he said.
He added that Syria was intervening to obstruct the reconciliation.
