No Serious Communication between Kataeb and FPM
Tourism Minister Elie Marouni said in an interview with LBC television on Saturday that he rejected a Syrian return to Lebanon, through the establishment of a Syrian Embassy, which he warned would serve as a Syrian operation center.
Marouni said that there was “no serious communication” between the Kataeb and the Free Patriotic Movement, adding that bilateral committees between the two parties had suspended their work.
He added that relations between the Kataeb and the Lebanese Forces were “perfect” and they would jointly contest the 2009 parliamentary elections.
“There is no disagreement with the Marada Movement, but there is also no alliance,” he said.
Marouni said that when he visits northern Lebanon as tourism minister, he would also visit Marada Movement leader Sleiman Franjieh.
