Optimist Christian Reconciliation May Be Reached Soon
Maronite League head Joseph Tarabay said he is optimist about the possibility of bringing feuding Christian leaders together.
“The current stage is marked by a media truce among the different Christian parties, paving the way for a new beginning,” Tarabay told to reporters at the Rafik Hariri International Airport on Sunday.
He added that he agreed with Marada Movement leader Sleiman Franjieh that “the reconciliations need time to mature.”
Responding to a question on the Maronite League’s plans to facilitate reconciliation, Tarabay said that “putting an end to media bickering would lead to a quieter tone… and this in turn would calm the situation on the ground, which is one of the purposes of reconciliation.”
