Cabinet Approves Baroud”s Visit to Syria
The Lebanese Cabinet on Monday approved a visit to Syria by Interior Minister Ziad Baroud in two weeks.
Finance Minister Mohammed Shatah also briefed the cabinet on the proposed budget for fiscal 2009 to start deliberating it as of the forthcoming session.
President Michel Suleiman urged the cabinet to intensify its sessions to adopt the budget bill that helps "facilitate stability."
The cabinet denounced the "U.S. aggression on Syria" saying it was in "violation of both Syria”s legal sovereignty and the international law."
The cabinet also discussed Premier Fouad Saniora”s visit to Turkey and President Suleiman”s two-day visit to Iran scheduled for Nov. 24.
