Sfeir says current situation “not so good
Maronite Patriarch Nasrallah Butros Sfeir said on Tuesday that the current situation in Lebanon was "not so good," adding that Lebanon can be safeguarded, "if the Lebanese double efforts to strengthen peace."
Following a meeting with Sfeir in Bkirki, the head of Parliament”s Administration and Justice Committee, MP Robert Ghanem, praised the role that the Maronite League was playing in setting the ground for reconciliation between the Lebanese Forces and the Marada Movement. Ghanem said the national dialogue session scheduled for Wednesday "would not reach any radical solutions."
He said participants had the right to expand the dialogue "but this will lead to wasting the round table”s real objective, which is that of coming up with a defense strategy.
