Bellemare To Extend His Mandate by Two Months
International Investigator probing the Hariri Assassination Daniele Bellemare has asked several Foreign states to back a request to extend his mission by two months.
The pan-Arab Daily al-Hayat noted that such a request requires the approval of the Lebanese Government and the U.N. Security Council.
Bellemare is currently visiting France for talks with officials related to his assignment.
Ex-Premier Rafik Hariri was killed by a powerful bomb explosion in Beirut on Feb. 14, 2005.
Bellemare is to refer his findings to the International Tribunal that would try suspects in the Hariri murder and related crimes.
