Abssi”s Brother Surprised to seeing Niece on Syrian Television
The brother of wanted Fatah al-Islam leader Shaker al-Abssi said from Amman on Saturday that he was surprised to see his niece on Syrian television among those accused of the terrorist attack on Damascus last September 27.
Last Thursday Syrian television showed members of Fatah al-Islam confessing to the attack.
Abdul Razaq al-Abssi told Agence France Presse (AFP) "Seeing her on television was a shock. Last we know she was in Lebanon."
Abssi who has not seen his brother Shaker for over three years is a physician in living in Amman. He says" Contacts between Wafaa and her mother stopped three weeks ago. We asked the Palestine Religious Authority for her whereabouts as she resided at a mosque in Saida under their care, they informed us that she had disappeared."
"A Lebanese newspaper leaked news that she is under arrest by Syrian authorities. We went on to ask the Red Cross but received no answer." Abssi said.
According to Absssi, Wafaa is a mother of two. She passed her children on to their grandfather in Lebanon.
Abssi did not provide further details says "God be with her."
