Baroud in Syria for Talks on Security
Interior Minister Ziad Baroud arrived on Monday on an official visit to Damascus to discuss the security of both countries with his Syrian counterpart, Bassam Abdul Majid.
Baroud said he was optimistic about the outcome of the visit and said the two ministers would clarify all points of controversy.
Abdul Majid in turn also expressed optimism that bilateral relations between Lebanon and Syria would improve. He also said talks would cover cooperation to confront terrorism and crime and control the Lebanese-Syrian border.
The brotherly and historical relations that joined Lebanon and Syria necessitated coordination between the two countries, Abdul Majid added.
Baroud is accompanied by Internal Security Forces Director General Achraf Rifi and General Security Director Wafik Jezzini.
