Jawhar Ring was Recruiting More Terror Cells
Members of the so-called Jawhar terror ring have testified to investigators that they had been working on forming new terror cells under the auspices of a clergyman known as Sheikh Hamza Qassem.
LBC TV network quoted sources close to the investigation carried out by Examining Magistrate Rashid Mizher as saying suspects have also testified that the group”s leader Abdul Ghani Jawhar, who remains at large, had been training recruits on the use of weapons and explosives for over a year near his northern village of Bibnine.
Suspects also testified that Jawhar owned a submachine gun, which he always told cadets it had been used in the assassination of then Industry Minister Pierre Gemayel on Nov. 21, 2006.
