Sayyed Willing to Appear before Court If He is Freed after Session
Former Lebanese security chief Jamil Sayyed, detained over the murder of ex-premier Rafik Hariri, confirmed refusing to go to court, setting a precondition for his release in return for attending.
"In the absence of serious Lebanese judicial investigation, he (Sayyed) is willing to appear before the international probe commission" into the Hariri assassination, a statement by his office said.
Sayyed also expressed willingness to appear before a Lebanese court "on condition that state prosecutor (Saeed) Mirza sets him free once the session is over and not to maintain his political arrest."
