Mahfoud calls on Maronite League to reveal party obstructing Christian reconciliation
Change Movement leader Elie Mahfoud said on Monday that he discussed with Maronite Patriarch Nasrallah Boutros Sfeir in Bkirki the issue of the reconciliation among Christians.
He added that one opposition party wanted to postpone the reconciliation until after the parliamentary elections in 2009 and called on the Maronite League to issue a clear statement because the public should be told who this obstructive party is.
He said that attacking the Lebanese president and claiming that the presidency was present at the Grand Serail, referring to Change and Reform bloc leader MP Michel Aoun’s speech on Sunday, was part of a persistent attack on the major Christian groups.
