Aoun has Harmed Presidency”s Position
The political bureau of the Lebanese Phalange Party reiterated its support for normalizing relations with Syria," However, within the constitutional institutions of both countries, in particular through what is decided by (Lebanon”s) cabinet, in a manner that guarantees a good relationship between two neighborly states, that recognizes each other."
The party during its session meeting under the leadership of its president Amin Gemayel expressed its satisfaction with cabinet”s decision of returning the cellular phone issue back to its legal track at the administrative and financial level, "in safeguarding laws and maintaining transparency."
The political bureau answered MP Michel Aoun”s charges in which he considered (power) in the Lebanese republic not to exist at Baabda presidential palace but rather at the grand serail saying," this formula clearly harms the position of the presidency, which, we all have to work on protecting on all levels to safeguard Lebanon in general and Christians in particular."
The Phalange went on to praise election results at Beirut”s attorney”s syndicate, congratulating "democratic attorney”s and all allies of March 14 Forces that resulted in 3 wins versus one for the opposition." The statement referred to next year”s parliamentary election saying, " the spring of 2009 came early."
