ISF Increases Deployments, Intensifies Efforts to Arrest Shooting Suspect
The Internal Security Forces intensified its deployment in the Shekka, Batroun and Koura regions on Sunday in accordance with a request by Interior Minister Ziad Baroud. Two anti-riot police and “Fouhoud” units were put under the command of the ISF commander in the Amioun region. These forces have begun to conduct patrols and set-up checkpoints.
ISF Director General Achraf Rifi gave orders to the intelligence services to intensify their efforts to discover the whereabouts of Marada Movement supporter Ghassan Kanaan, who is wanted for allegedly shooting Hanna Sassin Harb on November 17, 2008, in order to arrest him and take legal measures against him.
