St. Joseph Classes Suspended as March 14 and 8 Students Clash
Courses were suspended on Monday at various departments at the University of St. Joseph – Huvelin- in Beirut following student clashes during a celebration organized by pro-March 14 Forces at the university commemorating the second anniversary for the assassination of Industry Minister Pierre Gemayel with students supporting March 8 Forces.
The incident lead police crack force to intervene at the university.
Press information students supporting March 8 Forces provoked students participating at the anniversary celebration by throwing water bottles and slandering the deceased.
Police moved and separated both sides by keeping those celebrating the anniversary outside the university grounds while keeping pro March 8 students inside the university.
