LF Students: FPM Is Schizophrenic, Preach Democracy Practice Dictatorship
Student supporters of the Lebanese Forces at Lebanese University issued a statement on Wednesday addressing recent violence at the University of Saint Joseph-Huvelin on Monday and at the LU Faculty of Law on Wednesday. The LF students said the incidents proved that the Free Patriotic Movement “was schizophrenic… it publicly calls for democracy and freedom while in reality it practices dictatorship and imposes its opinion on the public.”
The students added that public opinion was far removed from the FPM’s political choices.
The statement also highlighted what the LF students called the FPM’s “terrorism,” which, the statement said, would not be allowed to torpedo the Cedar revolution, the power of the state or efforts to release Lebanese detained in Syrian prisons in order to advance the concept of “states within the state.”
