Aoun outside All Precincts
March 14 General Coordinator Fares Soueid said that Change and Reform bloc leader MP Michel Aoun had crossed all acceptable boundaries regarding the Syrian regime with his visit to Damascus.
In an interview with Saudi newspaper Al-Watan, Soueid said that Aoun’s political agenda was to ally with foreign countries in order to challenge domestic parties, while the March 14 coalition, in contrast, called for enhancing Lebanese unity against all outside forces.
He said that the most dangerous thing about Aoun’s visit was that it aimed to give the impression that some Christians supported a regime that Arab and Islamic public opinion considered suspect.
Soueid said that if it turned out that the “Alawi system” was responsible for the string of assassinations in Lebanon, and then Christians had no interest in forging a relationship with them.
