Constitutional Institutions Must Authorize Politician Visits to Damascus
Minister of the Environment Tony Karam said that the cabinet session on Friday [today] will not discuss the issue of politicians’ visits to Damascus.
He said that he supported any visit as long as it was authorized by the constitutional institutions.
In an interview with the Voice of Lebanon radio station on Friday, he added that Syria will not offer the Change and Reform bloc leader MP Michel Aoun anything more important than the decisions made during the Damascus summit in august between President Michel Sleiman and his Syrian counterpart Bashar al-Assad.
“If this materializes, there will be a real problem,” he said.
He concluded that MP Aoun could no longer fool anyone.
