March 14 Will Win 2009 Elections
Democratic Gathering MP Antoine Saad has said the March 14 alliance will win the majority of parliamentary seats in the 2009 elections.
“At this time we stand before new achievements in the western Bekaa and Rashaya … or the return to Syrian intelligence services,” Saad said in a speech in the western Bekaa on Friday.
The International Independent Investigation Committee also held the promise of “the victory of justice over injustice, oppressors and tyrants,” Saad added.
Last week, UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon said the Special Tribunal for Lebanon would officially begin work on March 1, 2009.
Saad also slammed Syrian attempts to “overthrow the court, international resolutions and promises, in addition to obstructing the demarcation of borders and diplomatic exchange and to opening the border to the export of terrorists.”
“At a time when we are beginning to recover the work of constitutional institutions, the government, the state and the army … the Syrian regime brings new assassinations and senseless destructive weapons.”
And on the next elections, Saad said, “Be sure we”re going to win the next parliament, thanks to our strength and unity … The path to independence will win with Saad Hariri and Walid Jumblatt, Samir Geagea and Amin Gemayel and Patriarch Sfeir, and with all the forces of March 14.
