U.S. Finances Firing Range for ISF
U.S. Ambassador Michele Sison and Internal Security Forces (ISF) Generals Anwar Yehya and Robert Jabbour opened the refurbished ISF firing range.
The Department of State through the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement provided 200,000 Dollars to refurbish the firing range in Aramoun, southeast of Beirut," the U.S. embassy said in a statement.
It said the U.S. Government has been assisting the ISF in its development since October 2006 through several programs.
The refurbishing project is part of the ongoing 60-million dollar law enforcement assistance program, which assists the ISF to enforce the rule of law and protect the Lebanese people within their sovereign state, the statement noted.
It said the "professional development of the ISF is critical for Lebanon”s sovereignty and security. The U.S. Government is committed to supporting Lebanon, the ISF and the Lebanese people."
