Decadence of Political Life Disappointing
MP Boutros Harb has said that political life has turned into debates and mutual accusations among politicians, ministers and deputies and lamented that the media had turned into a tool to transfer tension to the public.
At a press conference on Thursday, Harb presented a reform project for public service and said he regretted the decline of the image of the state and its institutions and the fact that wrongdoers had impunity.
Harb also noted the ambiguity of article 70 of the Lebanese Constitution on the power of the House of Parliament to impeach the prime minister or any minister by two-thirds of votes, which he said had allowed a number of ministers to evade punishment for political reasons.
