President Michel Suleiman said Lebanon was making "slow but steady steps toward salvation."
Suleiman told the Lebanese community in Jordan on Monday before heading back to Beirut that only a unified state would help Lebanon and its neighbors "where everybody would deal with the country on a state-by-state basis."
Suleiman toured religious and archeological sites along the Jordan River, in addition to watching anti-terrorism training exercises.
