Parliamentary Elections Significant Opportunity for Lebanese to Choose Their Leaders
Deputy Assistant to the Undersecretary of State for Near East Affairs David Hale said, after meeting with Maronite Patriarch Nasrallah Boutros Sfeir in Bkirki, that his country was committed to supporting Lebanon’s freedom, independence and sovereignty in addition to the implementation of all the United Nations Security Council resolutions on Lebanon.
He also called for reaching a final result and for revealing the truth behind all the “crimes” committed in Lebanon.
He said that he discussed with Sfeir the issue of the parliamentary elections and hoped they would be accomplished in a free and democratic atmosphere because this would be an important opportunity for people to choose their leaders.
