Unconditional Military Support to Lebanon Welcomed
In a statement issued after its weekly meeting headed by Dori Chamoun on Friday, the National Liberal Party welcomed all efforts to enhance the Lebanese military and security institutions’ capabilities and emphasized that this support be unconditional.
The statement added that the opposition ministers’ attempt to use the “obstructing third” veto during the cabinet session last Saturday, regarding the election of the Electoral Monitoring Committee members, was very dangerous.
The party said that this attempt coincided with the calls of MP Michel Aoun to amend the Taif Accord, while disagreements among the Lebanese and the flow of arms serving political purposes was rampant.
The statement noted that the time for establishing diplomatic ties between Lebanon and Syria was almost up, and nothing important was achieved yet.
