Lebanon’s Delicate Situation Cannot Bear Amendment to Taif
Democratic Gathering bloc MP Naameh Tohmeh said on Friday that the calls to amend the Taif Accord had become less frequent, because everyone understood that the delicate situation in Lebanon could not withstand any more turbulence.
He added that the parliamentary discussions that took place this week were democratic.
He praised his bloc’s leader, MP Walid Jumblatt, for dealing calmly and rationally with the situation in Mount Lebanon after the Kfarhim incident, when residents and Progressive Socialist Party supporters clashed with the bodyguards of Tawhid Movement leader Wiam Wahhab.
