US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Near East Affairs David Hale discussed with the Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea in Maarab on Friday the means to maintain US support for Lebanon’s independence and sovereignty.
Hale said that they discussed efforts needed to enforce the UN Security Council resolutions concerning Lebanon.
Hale added that his country was keen to secure the safety of Lebanon through providing the Lebanese Armed Forces with modern equipment in the coming weeks.
He concluded that the Russian military aid to Lebanon was a proof of the international community’s continuous support for the Lebanese state.
