March 14 Forces Call for a Defense Strategy Based on UNSCR 1701

March 14 Forces issued a statement calling on the United Nations Security Council on Sunday, to quickly move in putting an end to violations to UNSCR 1701. It also called for implementing a national defense strategy based on the same international resolution.

"The national dialogue headed by the president should quickly move in adopting a defense strategy based on UNSCR 1701," March 14 Forces General-Secretariat statement said.

It added that the international resolution constitutes the only guarantee in protecting Lebanon against all dangers.

The statement denounced the abduction of the Tarraf brothers by Israeli troops at the southern village of Blida.

"This dangerous behavior violates UNSCR 1701 and Lebanese national sovereignty," statement said.

It also called for government to adopt all necessary measures for controlling borders with Syria and for ending the phenomenon of Palestinian camps outside Palestinian refugee camps.
