Siniora Calls for an Exceptional Meeting of the Arab League
Prime Minister Fouad Siniora condemned, on behalf of the cabinet, the Israeli air strikes on the Gaza Strip on Saturday. Siniora called on the Arab League, and Arab presidents and kings to quickly hold an exceptional meeting to form a united Arab stance to respond to the Israeli attacks.
In a press release issued on Saturday, Siniora also called on the United Nations and its Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon to take the necessary international measures to halt Israel’s actions.
Siniora called for a broad Lebanese, Arab and international campaign of solidarity with the Palestinians, in order to stop the attacks, rescue the victims and take defensive measures against Israel.
