No sovereignty amid two arsenals
Kataeb Party leader Amin Gemayel told the Kuwaiti newspaper al-Kabs that his party’s stance toward Hezbollah’s weapons was clear and had nothing to do with the upcoming parliamentary elections. He rejected the presence of any arms outside legitimate military institutions.
Gemayel called for discussing this issue in the national roundtable dialogue in order to achieve the state’s sovereignty because, “it cannot be accomplished with the presence of two arsenals.”He called also for a peace strategy and a defense policy to ensure peace in Lebanon and regretted that some internal parties aimed to keep Lebanon a war arena for Syria, Iran and the United States.
