Blood of the Palestinians Should Not Be Exploited For Political Ends
Arab League Secretary General Amr Moussa addressed Arab foreign ministers during their meeting on Wednesday in Cairo and condemned the Israeli offensive on the Gaza Strip.
He added that the idea that the Israeli Defense Forces were invincible is no longer accurate and noted conflicts among Israeli parties due to the up-coming elections.
He said that the division among the Palestinian people and the lack of Arab role were responsible for the Israeli air strikes and called for taking a powerful united Arab position to confront the offensive on Gaza instead of increasing disparity among them.
He added that resisting occupiers is a legitimate right, but individual or mass suicide is unacceptable and every act should be well studied. The resistance should be responsible for the people.
The blood of the Palestinians should not be exploited for political ends, he said.
Moussa also called on Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas to make efforts immediately to stop the offensive on Gaza within the international community and affirmed that all Arab countries were supporting him.
He affirmed that Egypt was still ready to carry out the role of a mediator between all Palestinian factions.
“We should keep the UN Security Council non-aligned toward Gaza crisis,” he concluded.
