No Lebanese faction will open a front against Israel
Democratic Gathering bloc MP Marwan Hamadeh said that the Israeli measures at its border with Lebanon were mere precautions “because the situation in Lebanon does indicate that any faction is ready to open a front [against Israel] and break the UNSCR 1701.”
In an interview with Voice of Lebanon radio station on Monday, Hamadeh said that French President Nicolas Sarkozy was trying to tell the Syrians that there was no way for anyone to open a front against Israel. Hamadeh added that Sarkozy was, to an extent, satisfied with the Lebanese Syrian relations because there remained some unresolved issues.
