Government the Only Side Entitled to Open New Front
Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea on Thursday urged the government to assume its responsibilities and take a "decisive stance" on the rocket attack on northern Israel.
"The Lebanese government has to take a decisive stance during its meeting" on Thursday, Geagea told a press conference in Meerab.
"Any Lebanese party wanting to open a second front with Israel should propose the issue to the Lebanese government," he said.
"The government is the only side entitled to open a new front in the south," Geagea stressed.
"Any new front that would be opened with Israel is not in the interest of Palestinians," Geagea told reporters after several rockets launched from southern Lebanon fell on northern Israel Thursday morning.
The LF leader also said the Lebanese will unite against any Israeli aggression on the country.
However, he said, this does not mean that rockets could be launched from Lebanese territories.
Information reveals that the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine-General Command (PFLP-GC), which takes its orders from Damascus, was behind the operation.
If the PFLP-GC was involved, then why the rockets weren”t fired from (Syria”s) Golan Heights? Geagea wondered.
