Assaad”s Supporters in Tyre Attacked
Supporters of Ahmad al-Assaad”s Lebanese Belonging Movement (LBM) staged a sit-in protest in the southern city of Tyre on Sundayagainst the burning out of cars owned by three local leaders.
The vehicles – a BMW owned by Ali Zayyat, a Mercedes owned by Ahmed Srour and a Nissan Sunny owned by Mouin Badawi- were set ablaze in brad daylight.
LBM supporters urged authorities to carry out an investigation into the attacks, the latest in a series targeting the movement in south Lebanon.
The LBM is a Shiite movement that opposes Hizbullah”s alleged control of communities in south Lebanon.
