Progress Made in Probe Into Rocket Attack on Israel

The Lebanese Army is looking for a white truck which might be involved in the rocket attack on Israel and has disappeared in the area of Wadi Hmoul, As Safir daily reported.

It said investigation is underway to determine the identity of the man who informed authorities about the truck after he gave the false name of Albert. J.

On Thursday, several Katyusha rockets were fired from southern Lebanon into northern Israel.

Lebanese military sources informed As Safir that two suspects were arrested after one of them called the other saying "the object has arrived and tomorrow you will hear the good news."

However, press reports on Sunday disclosed the names of several Palestinian militants involved in the Katyusha attack.

The daily al-Balad identified the Palestinian suspects as Imad J.A., Jamil A.A., Mahmoud A.S., Jamal A.D. and Ayman A.J.

It said among the arrested was also Iyad B, a Palestinian-Jordanian.

An Nahar newspaper also Sunday quoted Cabinet sources as saying the government had obtained a report from the U.N. Interim Force in Lebanon saying that the rocket attackers "enjoy a high level of professionalism."
