Army Deploys Special Forces in South
The Lebanese Army deployed special forces south of the Litani River to further strengthen the military”s capabilities based on orders from Army Chief Gen. Jean Qahwaji.
Reinforcements included the Third, Sixth, Eleventh and Twelfth Brigades that were also supplied with armor and Humvees.
Qahwaji toured the area on Wednesday and met with officers, and troops.
He called on the military to remain alert to fully defend the country and citizens.
"The military won”t fail in exerting its utmost efforts against any Israeli aggression," Qahwaji said.
He also affirmed Lebanon”s full commitment to U.N. Security Council resolutions.
Qahwaji warned Israel, saying: "If you decide to attack, you would be surprised by the will of resistance by all Lebanese without exception."
